Watching the fuss over Barry Bonds close in on second place in baseball's career home run list reminds me of when Joe Lieberman declared that his presidential campaign had "Joementum" by finishing third in the race for third place in the 2004 New Hampshire primary — fifth place overall.

There is no fuss. There are many 24-hour sports networks, and they've finally run out of anything to talk about, so they make up some news. And yet they never seem to talk about the World Cup.
