I hope he had a good nap
It was Simon's second-ever Nats game and yet, just as I feared, the Giants gave Barry Bonds the day off.
Yet Bonds has hit better over the past three years during the day than at night. (Thank you to Josh for those stats.)
Bite-sized portions of triviality, served up since 1997.

Seeing Bonds listed as "day to day" reminds me of a famous joke from a broadcaster. It's not famous enough that I remember who said it, or who they said it about, but it's still a pretty good joke.
So, let's say it was Vin Scully talking about Pedro Guerrero.
"Guerrero not in the lineup today, he's listed as day-to-day. Then again, aren't we all?"
Hehe.
Wow! It was Vin Scully! I rule! Andre Dawson was the subject.
"Andre Dawson has a bruised knee and is listed as day-to-day (pause). Aren't we all?" (1991)
I'm suprised Josh would present such stats without comment, given day games represent a smaller sample size than night games and, by your own thesis, Bonds cherry picks which weekday day games he plays in. Sad, really.
Simon was pleased with the photo of Soriano in the Sports section today...though he noted with some glee that his favorite catcher (shhhhhh it's a Giant) was in the picture too.
thanks Uncle dl004d, that was fun!
