Oh my darling

Is it possible to buy just one clementine?

I mean, I know they are small.

But why do they have to be sold by the crate?

Because if they weren't sold in crates, how would we distinguish them from other orage-colored fruit? :)

How do we distinguish gala apples from fujis?

No, seriously, how do we?

Folks, isn't that what the lables are for? (And if you don't like labels, there's always laser tattoos.)

Or, if you're SKB, you just have all the produce codes memorized...

btw, you can buy clementines one at a time everywhere I shop. 'Course I'm in a different produce universe.

Really? How much does a single clementine cost?

If I tell you, you're going to hate me. I think clementines are like $1.29 a pound right now, so one at my local market is, what, 15 cents? Something ridiculous like that.

Don't worry, when I'm an ex-pat Californian I'll hate people who can buy clementines for 15 cents, too.
