California here we come

SAL reported last week that students at American University like to say "whatevs." (Today's busy college students, it seems, don't have time for the full version of the antiquated term "whatever.")

Then I noticed that Summer, on The O.C., said "whatevs" in an episode that ran in 2003.

Ha! My decision to watch the show has been vindicated. Clearly, I'm already four years behind the times — I can't afford to fall further behind.

If you're that far behind, forget about catching up. You should just start over, which probably means watching whatever "Laguna Beach" spinoff MTV is currently pimping.

Too late -- I'm already addicted to The O.C.

Don't forget to watch the Real Housewives of Orange County too.

that's too awesome. my favorite Summer-and-Marissa-ism though has to be "all-time".

That is,
Q: "did you have fun on your summer vacation?"
A: "dude, it was all-time."

so are you still on the first season?

I've seen the first eight episodes. It's good!

Don't worry, once you get to future seasons, it will start sucking.

The last season was an all-time high in TV suckitude. It almost had the feel of a cheap rip-off or spinoff of the original show.
