I love Panera Bread.

I'm pleased by the news that the chain is doing well. Its stock has increased more than 500% in the last two years; it makes almost twice as much money per customer than the industry average; and it is opening 150 new stores per year.

If this is the trend in chain restaurants —— good, fresh and nutritious food served on real plates with real utensils; and employees with health insurance and 401(k) plans — then it's a good trend.

The Panera in downtown Chicago is one of the store's most profitable locations. And since we already know I like chain restaurants, the obvious question I have is:

When Panera will open a store in D.C.?

The wifi is has filters on what content you can access though. I wonder all the Lisa Guerrero content would keep dl004d from making the cut.

I can understand the use of filters. For family-friendly reasons, Panera doesn't want people looking at porn -- especially if they have the bad taste to waste their time with Lisa Guerrero. And for liability (and bandwith) reasons, Panera can't have people visiting MP3 sites to download music.

But blocking Metroblogger DC makes no sense. I hope the good people at Panera are quick to fix that glitch.
