Take a ride on the SEPTA, not Reading

I'm a traditionalist.

But the idea of a new version of the official "Monopoly" game, as reported in today's New York Times, doesn't bother me. It seems that Hasbro is letting people vote online for new property names for the game. It's a silly gimmick, but there are zillions of fake versions out there already. In fact, I own Wisconsinopoly.

Hasbro will still sell the "Classic Monopoly," which is based on Atlantic City, N.J. — so what's the big deal?

with all the variations now available on the market this new monopoly isn't going to create much excitement---still it's a geat game which has deservedly had a lot of staying power.

It's New Coke vs. Classic Coke all over again. I don't care if they make a(nother) new version, but give the new version the crappy name, and leave the old "Monopoly" alone.
