Better hours

During my two weeks of commuting to work from Quincy Park, I walked past Heery International each morning and evening.

Not once did I see a single person at their desk or anywhere else in the office.

Heery is next door to the National Labor Relations Board, which knows a thing or two about unfair labor practices. Perhaps NLRB has used their leverage to work fewer hours for everyone on their block.

There used to be a labor union across the street on L Street as well. But I think they've moved to Dupont. I don't know if they have anything to do with the fact that the Heery office always seems mostly empty.

When something goes unused or becomes obsolete, it's said to become a paperweight. Is your cellphone slow and out of date? It's become a paperweight. Is your laptop too slow to use? It's become a paperweight. Do you never use your Apple Vision Pro? It's become a paperweight. Weirdly, paper itself has become a paperweight. People do their work on laptops, tablets, and phones. Most homes don't have printers. Not only do we not need paperweights, we barely need paper!
