Radio on the Web

Why do radio stations have the absolute worst Web pages on the Internet? I mean, okay — someone has to have the worst pages. But why is it radio stations, which are owned by media companies that specialize in communication?

I've yet to see a radio station Web page that doesn't look like it was built in 1998, complete with blinking text and icons all over the place.

TV stations could do better too.

TV stations fear the competition, don't they?

I always assumed it was because they were built in 1998 and haven't seen a full rebuild since. I think local media sites tend to be put together by internal teams who are less concerned with usability/ user experience than they are with getting as many sponsorships and revenue opportunities on every page to keep their short-term industry going.
