The Big Ten Conference currently does not allow1 fans to bring vuvuzelas to games. This is an outrage, not unlike the time when the Ed Sullivan Theater wouldn't let me wear my cheesehead to a Letterman taping.
The vuvuzela is not a tradition in the American Midwest, you see, but maybe it just needs time.
After all, the vuvuzela — touted as a South African tradition — wasn't invented until the 1960s, didn't have a name until the 1990s and didn't become popular until the 2000s.
