No taxation without representation

When the Washington Post was considering possible locations for its new headquarters, several factors were at play: lease vs. build; downtown vs. suburbs; power center vs. hipster enclave.

The political part of it hadn't occurred to me until reading Jonathan O'Connell's account: "Moving to Virginia would provide voting representation in Congress."

If they stay in the District, the newspaper has no members of Congress to bribe!

I complain about not having representation in Congress, but it never occurred to me that it's also a competitive disadvantage to businesses trying to survive a crowded marketplace.
