What's Brett Favre's record on polypropylene?

As you know, it is redundant to say that the Green Bay Packers will be playing this weekend on the "frozen tundra" of Lambeau Field ("tundra" means permanently frozen earth).

In fact, it's not even natural tundra. Or at least not 100 percent natural.

The playing surface at Lambeau Field is a "DD GrassMaster" hybrid of natural grass and indestructible blades of synthetic fiber. The manufacturer, Desso DLW Sports Systems, says it is about 97 percent natural grass and 3 percent polypropylene.

Of course, dl004d wishes it was 100% polypropylene.

dl004d has been in the pocket of Big Polypropylene (uh, Dow?) for years.

Of course, only when he leaves that pocket can he avoid being whistled for intentional grounding. Hehe. Ground: get it?

tundra means permanently frozen earth.. this is true... but isn't "Tundra" (notice the capitalized T) is a moniker for land that happens to be frozen near the Arctic?

So .. the frozen tundra is incorrect.. but the frozen Tundra is perfectly fine...

But if "Tundra" refers specifically to Arctic land, then it can't also refer to the ground in Green Bay, right?

Purposely being glib? Well, I could talk about my desire to hear the announcers talk in their best John Facenda voice about the beauty of the Frozen Polypropylene Of Lambeau Field...

Given that polypropylene is already in solid form, wouldn't it be correct, under almost any weather conditions, to note that it is frozen?

Playing on liquid polypropylene probably wouldn't be safe.

Huh? Your couch is solid -- does that make it frozen?
